How Retire Handbook handles your information
Last updated September 3, 2026
Who we are
Retire Handbook (retirehandbook.com) is an educational website about retirement income. It connects readers who ask for a review with licensed financial professionals. It does not sell financial products and does not give personalized financial, tax, or legal advice.
What we collect
When you take the quiz we collect the answers you choose (age range, retirement timing, savings range, whether retirement accounts can be moved, and your main concern) and the contact details you enter (name, email address, and mobile number). We also record the exact consent wording you agreed to and the time you agreed.
We automatically collect basic technical information: your IP address, browser type, the page you arrived on, the page that referred you, and advertising parameters in the link you clicked (such as UTM tags and click identifiers).
We use the Meta pixel to measure advertising. It sets cookies and reports events such as starting the quiz, finishing it, and clicking to schedule a review. Meta's own policy governs what Meta does with that data.
How we use it
- To write the summary and guide you see after the quiz.
- To contact you about your review if you asked for one and agreed to be contacted.
- To introduce you to a licensed financial professional and to prepare them for your review.
- To measure which advertising brings readers to the site and to improve the site.
- To keep the site secure and to prevent abuse.
Who we share it with
If your answers show a review is a fit and you agree to be contacted, we share your quiz answers and contact details with one or more licensed financial professionals in our network so they can hold the review. They are independent of Retire Handbook and may pay us for the introduction.
We use service providers to run the site: hosting, database, scheduling, messaging, and analytics providers. They process your information only to provide those services to us.
We may disclose information when the law requires it or to protect the rights and safety of readers, our partners, or ourselves.
We do not sell your information to data brokers or lead lists.
Calls and text messages
On the contact step you can agree to receive calls and text messages from Retire Handbook and its partner licensed professionals at the number you provided, including messages sent using automated technology. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply.
You can withdraw consent at any time. Reply STOP to any text message, tell the caller you no longer wish to be contacted, or email us at [email protected]. We will pass your request to any partner we shared your details with.
Cookies and tracking
The site uses browser storage to carry your quiz answers to the summary page and to remember which advertising link you arrived from. The Meta pixel uses cookies for advertising measurement. You can block cookies in your browser settings and adjust ad preferences in your Meta account settings. The site still works with cookies blocked.
How long we keep it
We keep quiz submissions and consent records for as long as needed to provide the review, to meet our legal obligations, and to resolve any dispute about consent. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, subject to those obligations.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
If you live in California or another state with a consumer privacy law, you have the rights that law gives you, including the right to know, delete, and correct, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Sharing your details with a partner professional at your request is a disclosure you asked for, not a sale. We do not discriminate against readers who exercise their rights.
Security
Your information is stored in an access-controlled database and transmitted over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never happen.
Children
The site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be noted on this page.
